These yard hydrants are located in the Placita A parking lot next to the A1 carport, Placita B next to B2, the Placita B fire lane next to B6, the Orchard, and Placita D. The Placita B fire lane and the Orchard can share a meter box. The rationale for this project is that meters would reveal when there are issues such as leaks and would make us eligible for rebates from the City. The cost would be $3500 from the Capital Improvement Fund or $3000 if the digging were done by Commoners. The proposal passed its first of two business meetings. KristinB 04 October

Decision Id 10583 Decision Able Hands Landscaping (Tyson Reed, owner) will overhaul the drip irrigation system in the plaza. This involves going thru each zone and removing any extra, unneeded tubing and adding tubing and emitters where they are needed. Bury the lines 2". The emitters will be 1-2" above the soil to enable seeing water coming out of them. The pop up sprayers on the lawn will be adjusted and a sprayer will be added to cover the circle around the fountain. Fix the leak on the backflow preventer. Change out the pressure reducer to zone 5 or the reducer will be removed if necessary to get more pressure to that zone. KristinB 19 August

It helped us years ago to do this. An estimate came in at $175/hour by the two companies that the city recommends. Overall it would cost $1400-1750 (including a video inspection of the inside of the lines). Agreed to pay for this out of the roads and utilities reserve fund.
